Turning it on adds five read-only columns: Late Start, Late Finish, Total Float, Free Slack and Critical.
One rule, no mystery
A task is critical when its Total Float is zero. That’s the whole rule.
Arrows that mean something
Dependency arrows turn red only when both linked tasks are critical.
Float you can believe
Float is measured against each resource’s own working calendar.

Before you buy
Is Gantt Excel Ultimate still available?
Under its current name, yes. Gantt Excel Ultimate was renamed Gantt Excel Pro — same workbook, same team. If you already own an Ultimate licence, your file and licence keep working exactly as before; there’s nothing to reinstall or re-buy because of the rename.
Is this a subscription?
No. It’s one payment, not a subscription, and the licence does not expire.
Which edition should I pick?
By how you measure work: Daily Planner for projects measured in days, Hourly Planner for work that lives inside a single day, and Hourly + Daily if your project mixes both.
What do I need to run it?
Just Microsoft Excel, on Windows or Mac. No account, no add-in installer, no server.
